Changing Price Exceptions

1. At the Customer field, enter the customer code or customer maskA mask is used to conduct a wild card search. Visually a mask is represented by a series of forward slash marks (///), sometimes with a letter, letters, or number preceding it (1/////// or AB////). For example, if you enter AB//// this indicates that you want to list all customer defined in the system whose names begin with AB.. Or, enter "//////" to add a price exception for all customers.

A Select A Pricing Exception window will appear with the following options:

• EXIT – Select EXIT to exit and return to the Customer field.
• ADD PRICING EXCEPTION – Select ADD PRICING EXCEPTION to add a pricing exception.
• PRINT LIST – Select PRINT LIST to print a list of pricing exceptions.
• A list of price exceptions, that have been defined for the customer or customer mask selected. The following information will display:
• The item code ID or item maskA mask is used to conduct a wild card search. Visually a mask is represented by a series of forward slash marks (///), sometimes with a letter, letters, or number(s) preceding it (1/// or AB///). For example, if you enter ////////, this indicates that you want to list all items defined in the system. If you enter in 1//1//1/, this indicates that you want the system to list items that have the digit "1" in those locations.
• The item class and item subclass mask(s)
• The item name if the price exception is for a single item
• F and the dollar amount to indicate a fixed selling price exception or the amount and method of calculation (per LB or %)
• The price exception type – product or the cost adjustment type assigned to the price exception.

Scroll to the price exception that needs to be changed and press Enter to select.

Note: If a specific customer ID code was entered, (i.e. ANTH00) you will be unable to select an exception from the window that is applicable to "//////" customers. To modify the pricing exceptions that apply to all customers, enter '//////' as the customer code. The customer and item maskA mask is used to conduct a wild card search. For example, if you enter ////////, this indicates that you want to list all items defined in the system. If you enter in 1//1//1/, this indicates that you want the system to list items that have the digit "1" in those locations. for a pricing exception cannot be changed if entered incorrectly. Delete the incorrect record and re-enter.

2. Command options will appear:

• Change – Select Change to make changes to the price exception.
• Delete – Select Delete to delete the price exception.
• Exit – Select Exit to exit and return to the Customer field.

Select Change.

3. If the price exception selected applies to a customer maskA mask is used to conduct a wild card search. Visually a mask is represented by a series of forward slash marks (///), sometimes with a letter, letters, or number preceding it (1/////// or AB////). For example, if you enter AB//// this indicates that you want to list all customer defined in the system whose names begin with AB. or all customers a Select A Price Class window will appear. Scroll to the price class for the price exception and press Enter to select or select EXIT if you do not need to make changes to the Price Class field.

4. Make the appropriate changes to the remaining fields. Press the Enter, Tab, Page Down, or arrow keys to move through remaining fields.

Note: To change a fixed amount per unit exception to either a percentage or a fixed price, enter 0 in the fixed amount field to gain access to the other two fields.

5. Command options will appear:

• Update – Select Update to save your changes.
• Exit – Select Exit to exit without saving changes and return to the Customer field.

Note: Remember, pricing exceptions are cumulative and multiple exceptions can apply to the same customer and item.

To view which price exceptions are being used to calculate a particular item price, use the Pricing Exceptions Inquiry.

Pricing exceptions can only be entered for items designated as P (P=product type) or C (C=carton type). Price exceptions cannot be entered for other-type items.

The price exception capability is limited to 50 pricing exceptions per customer or customer mask.
